Thunder Bay Artistic Swimming Club full steam ahead during competition season

In March, our provincial and national teams competed in Winnipeg, Man., and returned with ribbons and medals all around.

Thunder Bay – In February, the Thunder Bay Artistic Swimming Club - supported through the Ontario Winter Games - hosted athletes who travelled to Thunder Bay to compete at the Canada Games Complex.

Many folks came out to watch our sport and witness the amazing athleticism and hard work demonstrated by the competing athletes. Since that time, the club’s competitive athletes have been busy travelling to competitions and are already garnering some impressive results.

Our junior and youth duets went to their first competition in February and brought home first place and fourth place respectively.

In March, our provincial and national teams competed in Winnipeg, Man., and returned with ribbons and medals all around. Finally, four of our athletes travelled to Winnipeg for the Canadian National Qualifier.

Our junior duets, Chloe Winn and Natalie Biesenthal, will be competing in the Canadian National Championships held in Montreal this May. Upcoming competitions in April will bring us to Winnipeg for provincial championships and Regina, Sask., for the Canadian Prairie Championships, where they will be competing with athletes from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario.
