Ruth Mildred Dundas (nee Clements) passed away peacefully on April 6, 2024, in Thunder Bay, Ontario, at the age of 92. She was born on June 6, 1931, in Port Arthur, Ontario, Canada.

Ruth was a strong and independent woman with an adventurous spirit, serving as an inspiration to all who knew her. She had a successful career, starting as a cook in lumber camps during high school, employment at local movie theatres, then working in the Payroll Department at Lakehead University, and finally retiring after her service at the Mississauga General Hospital.

An avid golfer, skier, canoeist, and camper, she lived life to the fullest, embracing every adventure that came her way.

Ruth is survived by her loving children, Laura Sportel (William), and David Dundas (Annie Bergeron), her grand children Dr. Terah Sportel (Dr. Jason Venkiteswaran), Olivier Dundas (deceased), Basile Dundas, as well as her great grandchild Aurora Sportel, nephew and close friend Glen Dundas(Madge), and nephew Kevin Dundas. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Burton Dundas.

A cremation has taken place, and in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Roseview Long Term Care Home, for the loving and professional care provided to Ruth.

Ruth will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. Her legacy of strength, independence, and adventurous spirit will continue to inspire generations to come.
