Skates taken during knifepoint robbery recovered

THUNDER BAY -- A teen who was robbed at knifepoint a week ago has recovered his skates.

The 15-year-old boy was threatened at knifepoint and robbed of his skates at the Kinsmen Centre rink on North James Street when a female grabbed his skates and began walking away Friday, Dec. 12.

Police say the victim approached the suspect when he was pushed by the woman’s male companion, who pulled a knife.

The victim was not injured and police were unable to find the two males and two females who approached the boy.

Thunder Bay Police Community Response Team , Aboriginal Liason Unit and School Resource officers have recovered a pair of $800 Easton skates, which were taken during that robbery.

The skates have been returned to the owner.

No charges have been laid at this time.

The investigation continues.
