A teenager has been charged after a fatal collision with a pedestrian last month.
The crash killed 75-year-old Darlene Kooistra at the intersection of Arthur Street and Edward Street Dec. 5, 2014.
Thunder Bay Police Service have charged the 17-year-old driver with careless driving.
After examining the truck, police also charged him with a defective braking system, operating an unsafe vehicle and driving a vehicle with an open container of liquor.
He will appear in court Feb. 20 for careless driving and March 6 for the other charges.
Soon after the crash, investigators told media that Kooistra appeared to be crossing Arthur Street on a motorized personal mobility device when the crash took place.
The woman was then struck by a pickup truck in the crosswalk.
The driver of the truck was making a right turn from Edward onto Arthur Street at the time of the incident.
None of the charges against the teen have been proven in court.
