THUNDER BAY -- More collisions happened at the intersection of Harbour Expressway and Golf Links Road than any other in the city during the first nine months of last year.
According to information provided by the Thunder Bay Police Service, there were 17 reported collisions at that intersection during the first three quarters of 2014.
Intersections along Harbour Expressway ranked high on the list, with a total of 48 reported collisions at four intersections. There were 10 at Harbour and Memorial Avenue, nine at Harbour and Fort William Road as well as eight at Harbour and Balmoral Street.
Two Arthur Street intersections rounded out the top three on the list, with 14 incidents taking place at Arthur and Mountdale Avenue as well as 13 at Arthur and James Street.
There were 46 reported collisions at Arthur Street intersections, with Arthur and Franklin Street as well as Arthur and Mary Street both making the list.
Intersections along Memorial Avenue had 35 reported collisions with 10 each at Central Avenue and the Harbour Expressway and eight at High Street.
The statistics only include incidents reported to city police. They also do not include highway intersections, which are under OPP jurisdiction.
