THUNDER BAY -- THUNDER BAY -- A significant north side water main break has left a handful of houses without power and water for an entire day Tuesday.

City sewer and water crews worked through the morning and into the evening at the site of a water main break on Perth Crescent.

The power was restored Wednesday morning.

Ray Linke, who lives on the crescent, had to stay home from work as access was impacted most of the day.

“It started at around 8:30 a.m. gushing out of the transformer. We’ve had the whole area here flooded,” he said Tuesday, before crews had finished their repairs.

“I’ve been told they’re going to be digging up the road shortly and we’re not going to be able to use the cul-de-sac.”
