Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the City of Thunder Bay, warning of the potential for significant rainfall Wednesday. Below is the Environment Canada weather statement as it appeared when it was first released:

Significant rainfall Wednesday.
A developing Colorado low is forecast to strengthen and track over Western Lake Superior by Wednesday evening. Rain in advance of this system is expected to begin along the Minnesota border overnight then spread northward to Lake Nipigon by early Wednesday morning.

Current indications suggest that rainfall amounts from this system are likely to be in the 25 to 50 mm range by Wednesday evening. However, rainfall amounts could exceed 50 mm in some locales due to embedded thunderstorms.

The rain should become light Wednesday night before tapering off Thursday morning.
