THUNDER BAY – Gas prices continue to dip in this city, but across the province experts say those prices are expected to rise over the weekend.

According to the online gas price watchdog ontariogasprices.com most gas bars in Thunder Bay are selling regular gas at $1.239-a-litre, which is nearly 20-cent-a-litre drop from what prices were last week.

And at neighbouring Fort William First Nations, at least one gas bar was selling fuel at less than a dollar-per-litre Friday morning.

Provincially gas prices continue to trend down, with the Ontario average now reaching $1.01-per-litre.

But according to national media, the dropping prices are not expected to last.

Petroleum analysts have been on record stating that gas could start rising later this afternoon and continue rising throughout the weekend.
