After returning from AMO meetings, officials in Dryden are looking at moving forward with plans to help provide more power to the North.
Outgoing Mayor Craig Nuttall made the presentation to Minister of Northern Development and Mines Michael Gravelle in Niagara Falls recently regarding plans for Dryden to build a natural gas facility in town.
The project will feed electricity to the grid, helping generate power to two potential mining companies outside of town, as well as communities north of Dryden.
It will also generate 50 permanent jobs within the town.
Nuttall says the project is important to the Northwest, and wants the process to begin soon.
The town will now have to wait on getting the okay from the Minister of Energy, on a feed-in-tariff contract for the facility.
