Office of the Fire Marshall investigator Timothy Irish believes it's too early to say whether the fire that burned Fresh Air Experience on Friday night could be considered "suspicious."

Crews were on-site again on Monday securing the area and rendering it safe for investigation but Irish stressed the physical investigation has yet to take place.

"I think any sort of speculationat this time would be premature until a proper investigation has been conducted within the area of interest -- within this fire scene -- would be speculation on what the cause might be," he said.

The claim the fire was "suspicious" appeared in a Thunder Bay Fire & Rescue press release issued on Saturday morning, which described heavy inventory at the rear of the store, where firefighters were unable to suppress the fire and smoke.

Irish expects more information will be released later this week.

"I have been engaged in the invesetigation since the event has taken place," he said.

"Ive conducted a number of interviews, I've gathered a significant amount of data from different sources and I'm continuing to work through that until such time as I'm able to get into the scene safely."
