Police seek two 30-year-old suspects, 17-year-old sent to hospital

Youth Assaulted

Thunder Bay Police Criminal Investigation Branch is currently investigating an assault that sent a 17 year old male to the hospital on February 13, 2016.At approximately 5:00 p.m. the youth was walking on the footbridge between Northern and Southern Avenue at the end of Syndicate Avenue when he was approached by two males who demanded a cigarette.

The youth was assaulted, stabbed and then the suspects shot at him with a pellet or air soft gun. The victim was able to fight his way out of the situation and make it to his residence. Police and ambulance were called and he was escorted to the hospital for medical treatment.

The two suspects are described as Native Canadian males approximately 30 years old with medium builds. One male is 5'8" tall and the other is slightly taller. Both males were wearing black hoodies or jackets and the shorter male had the bottom portion of his face covered with a balaclava.
