THUNDER BAY - One of Thunder Bay's best-loved waterfront attractions is getting ready to close its doors later this summer.

The Breakwater Taphouse is located on the second floor of the former CN Station at Prince Arthur's Landing.

The historic train station is owned by the city and it's on a long-term lease to the ReSolve Group, the developers of the nearby waterfront hotel and condos.

ReSolve sub-leased the space to Breakwater on the understanding they could take it back at a later date.

The bar's owner says they've always known this day would come, and they've already seen crews starting work in the old station.

Berlinquette said she has no plans to relocate the pub, which will remain open until August 31st.

Contruction on the Delta hotel project next door is supposed to resume in July, after more than a year of delays.

City manager Norm Gale said ReSolve officials leased the CN station with a plan to fill it with shops and restaurants, to compliment the hotel.

Officials from the ReSolve Group did not return calls requesting comment.
