THUNDER BAY - A pair of Thunder Bay men are hoping their latest project, will make waves in the competitive world of boating.
Carbon Marine is a company that has built the Paragon, the world's first boat with an exposed carbon fibre hull.
The Paragon is handbuilt in Stouffville but has its roots in Northwestern Ontario.
Company president Alan Barrie said the carbon fibre hull makes the boat both extremely light, and strong.
The Paragon comes with a 627 horsepower engine, which gives it incredible speed over the water.
Barrie said the idea first came about, when a colleague was working on conventional fibreglass hulls.
He added that the Paragon will be at the Muskoka boat and cottage show in Gravenhurst next week.
