THUNDER BAY - No injuries were reported after a car fire spread to an adjacent Picton Avenue home early on Saturday morning.
At approximately 4:10 a.m.,Thunder Bay Fire Rescue was deployed to the scene, where they discovered flames from the vehicle fire had ignited the structure's siding.
The fire was knocked down by the first arriving unit. No occupants were in the home at the time.
Platoon chief Harold Spitoff said over the phone on Saturday that the fire setting the house ablaze was "simply the result of a car being too close to the residence."
A second alarm was called, and a total of five pumpers and an aerial ladder was used.
No significant damage to the residence was reported.
The fire is under investigation.
