DRYDEN, Ont. – A fire has destroyed a home and several vehicles in Dryden, while firefighters managed to limit damage to a second residence threatened by the blaze.
The Dryden Fire Service responded to a structure fire on Kerney Hill Court around 4:30 p.m. Friday, arriving to find two homes and three vehicles on fire.
The fire service responded to the blaze with 31 firefighters and 8 apparatus, quickly bringing the fire under control.
Firefighters battled temperatures below -30 C and challenging fire conditions to save one of the houses, said fire chief Kent Readman, limiting damage to the exterior.
The other residence and all three vehicles are a complete loss, he said. There were no injuries.
The cause of the fire is not yet known and remains under investigation, but has not been deemed suspicious.
