THUNDER BAY — A third threat against St. Patrick High School in recent weeks resulted in a hold-and-secure being declared Monday morning.
According to a release from the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board, city police were promptly contacted.
As a precaution, the school was placed in a hold-and-secure situation while police investigated.
At 12:30 p.m., the board announced that, for precautionary reasons, students were being dismissed early.
Buses were to pick students up at school and transport them home,
Parents and guardians were also able to pick up their children from school.
The board asked parents and guardians to contact their children directly if they have a mobile device.
All community use-of-school permits were cancelled for Monday night.
The incident is the third threat against St. Patrick's in recent weeks, including another that prompted an evacuation on Dec. 7, and joins a growing list of threats and other recent incidents against local Catholic schools.
