KENORA, Ont. -- Ontario Provincial Police have released the identity of a man and woman who were found dead on Saturday.

The deceased have been identified as 57-year-old Peter Karschewski and 62-year-old Diane Karschewski of MacNicol Township.

A media release issued on Sunday states that officers with the Kenora detachment of the OPP were called to a home on Hawk Lake Road on Mar. 31 at 2:40 p.m. after receiving reports of a sudden death.

Upon entering the home, officers confirmed that a 62-year-old woman and a 57-year-old man were dead. Both the man and woman were residents of Kenora.

The circumstances surrounding the deaths are being investigated by the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch as well as the Office of the Chief Coroner. A post mortem examination is expected to take place in the coming days in Toronto.

Police say there is no danger to public safety at this time.
