Police are asking the public for help in tracking down two suspects involved in an armed robbery on Sunday.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers say two men entered the Mac’s Convenience store on Waterloo Street armed with a knife around 3:45 a.m.. The two men fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money. The two were last seen heading north from the store.

Police described the men as Caucasian around five-foot-10 with slim builds. One suspect was wearing a black mask and scarf around his head and face, wore black pants and a black shirt with white lettering or symbols on them.

The second suspect is described as wearing a black scarf around his head while wearing sunglasses, wearing navy pants and a black hoodie.

Anyone with information about these two individuals is asked to call the Thunder Bay Police Service at 684-1200 or Crime Stoppers at 623-8477.

AGAIN! This is getting old really quick. Putting these minimum wage workers in these situations for $50 and some smokes......people working at Macs should be getting danger pay.

Hey ThunderBayFullOfCrime your handle says it all. You seem to have all the answers, but what does a "minimum wage" work have to do with this? You say "people working at Mac's should be getting danger pay", i guess everyone citizen in Tbay should get danger pay through their taxes - because crime is everywhere not just at Mac's!

You are such a bone head!

The pure idiocy of your continuous posting of this video is almost laughable... almost. It had been over two months since a Mac's had been hit. Also, he's one vote on the Police Services Board. One Vote...

Joe Virdiramo and company should resign

Yea Keith Hobbs is doin a great job...
Oh wait, he's on a paid vacation to Japan right now. LOL!
Building a 250 MILLION dollar courthouse(when the old one works fine)doesn't make me feel like crime rates are going to drop any time soon.

That post is proof of how low the IQ really is in this room. The sister city program (which by the way almost every city participates in, has nothing to do with the story. The courthouse is built and paid for by the province, so I guess that is strike two. Also how does a mayor stop people who are drug addicts from commiting a crime out of desperation? Thats the job of police and senior government, not municipal politicians. Just a wee bit of research and education, and you too could someday say something half intelligent

TBDR says "Also how does a mayor stop people who are drug addicts from commiting a crime out of desperation?"

THAT'S WHAT HE CAMPAIGNED ON.

I don't dislike him because he can't stop crime. I dislike him because during the campaign he was full of promises that he had absolutley no clue about and absolutley no hope of carrying through. Not just on crime, but on a lot of other issues too. Unfortunately lots of people bought it.

OK, there is amped up security now, lots of stores do have a security guard, the problem now is copy cats, going around looking for fast cash, you all want this perfect world, it does not exist, at least its slowing down. As for TBDR....do you work for tbnewswatch??? You always seem to have a post in response to everyone all the time, do you have a job? Do you live at home in your parents basement following tbnewswatch at all hours of the day? Weird, must be a lonely life, when you find friends on a comment board.

Any posting that gets TBDR trolling you in my opinion is a good one...he'll defend HOBBS no matter what...obviously TBDR's blood pressure also gets raised with just the mention of his pal HOBBS in a negative light.

Reignmaker says:
Someone should bring this to that committee that Hobbs put in place at the beginning of his time in office. That is, if you can find it since it seems to a secret society not for public access.

More crime in Thunder Bay? Mac's Mart is giving away free money! And where is our Mayor and Crime Committee? Their probably in Japan washing their tights!

Someone will eventually get fed up with these types of crimes and physicaly harm an individual while in the act.

The sad thing is, if the cashier harms the individual, guess who gets charged and a nice police record... all for defending themselves....

Agreed... Why are the police and/or media not posting the photos of these criminals? Say what you want about Mac's, at least they are trying to do something as a VICTIM of crime... you want to see the photos, go to www.facebook.com/MacsCrimeBusters

tannharr says:
IDEA: Banks usually use a dye bag when robbed. I understand that the typical Mac's robbery is just for smokes or small amounts of cash. Is there a way for the cashier to have access to "phony" or "slightly damaging" products such as money or smokes that can lead police to the location of the robbers. Perhaps a fake bill that is mixed in with the regular bills that's handed to the robber that contains a paper-thin PGS tracker. That way when the police are called, they can trace the location of the robbers, catch them, and re-use the bill the next time.

I'm a little surprised no one on this board has accused Commisso and Hobbs of being the perps in the video?! I would have thought that the fact the suspects asked for "$9.5MM to cover the cost of Waterfront Phase III" would have been a big tip off.
