There have been no new evacuations and no homes have been damaged by a forest fire near Kirkland Lake.

About 300 people were told to leave residential and cottage areas at Goodfish and Nettie Lake for safety reasons on Sunday.

Officials with the OPP say Highway 11 is now open.

Cooler weather on Monday provided a reprieve, but officials with the Ministry of Natural Resources say hot and dry weather is expected for the next few days.
