A pedestrian involved in a collision with a vehicle has died, city police confirmed.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers blocked off the Golf Links Road entrance to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre following the fatal crash. Officers responded to a call of a collision on the hospital grounds sometime after 9 a.m.

Police say the man was a patient and had “thrown himself under a truck which was driving near the main entrance of the building.”

Police say the investigation should not cause a major disruption to pedestrian or vehicle traffic to the facility.

The investigation is ongoing.
