Police brought out the K-9 unit on Monday following a collision between a dump truck and a parked vehicle on the Thunder Bay Expressway.
No one appears to have been hurt Monday when a dump truck rear-ended a parked vehicle on the Thunder Bay Expressway.
Both drivers were charged. The driver of the dump truck was charged with careless driving and the driver of the Grand Am was charged with parking in a no-parking zone.
Thunder Bay Police would not say why they had their K-9 unit searching through the edge of the forest alongside the highway, between Oliver Road and John Street, only that it was on an unrelated matter.
Traffic was not re-routed, though police and highway crews remain on scene investigating and cleaning up the aftermath of the collision.
