Police have made an arrest in connection with a murder that took place at a remote First Nation last month.
Officials with the OPP and Nishnawbe Aski Police Service were called to Sandy Lake First Nation on May 12. An adult male was found in a home, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Following a post mortem in Kenora, it was determined the deceased, 29-year-old Uriah Kakepetum of Sandy Lake First Nation, was the victim of a homicide.
Police say officers arrested a 34-year-old man from the same community Monday, and charged him with second-degree murder.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the OPP.
