A pick-up truck slammed into the side of a Porcupine Boulevard home early Wednesday morning, seriously damaging the structure in the process.

Police say they arrested the 48-year-old male driver of the truck and charged him with impaired driving and drive over .08 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.

The suspect, who police did not name, will appear in court at a later date.

It appears the driver realized a wood and concrete barricade was in place along Parkdale Boulevard, and he swerved to avoid them, jumping the curb and crashing into the brick front of the home. Wooden boards now cover what once was the residence's front door, and a pile of rubble remains crumbled across the front steps.

No one was injured in the collision.
