City police and fire investigators are looking into a possible explosion that destroyed one vehicle and damaged another.
Thunder Bay Police Service officials have confirmed that the incident took place on Lydia Avenue, off Dawson Road, at about 3 a.m. Thursday. The home belongs to McIntyre Coun. Trevor Giertuga.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue officials said they responded to a possible explosion, and discovered an extended cab pickup truck fully engulfed in flames. Fire crews managed to quickly extinguish it, but not before it was heavily damaged.
A second vehicle nearby also sustained some minor damage.
A fire inspector and city police have attended the scene to investigate the circumstances around the fire.
