THUNDER BAY -- Tweeting child pornography led to the arrest of a local 52-year-old man.

Thunder Bay Police Service officials say they began an investigation following a complaint from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre. The tip advised police that a Thunder Bay man had been uploading child pornogrpahy to Twitter.

The investigation led to the search of a Chilton Avenue home on April 10. A computer, tablet, two smart phones and two USB flash drives were seized as a result of that search.

Police say they were able to confirm the existence of child pornography after examining the seized devices.

Police say Jeffrey Frederick Miro, 52, of Thunder Bay, turned himself into police on April 22. He has been arrested and taken into custody.

He made a court appearance Wednesday morning. His next court date has been set for May 16.
