THUNDER BAY -- A city police constable has been found not guilty of charges of Assault.
The charge against Const. Andrew Johnston was filed following a Special Investigations Unit probe into an incident last May at the Balmoral Police Station.
The alleged incident involved a 43-year-old suspect who had been arrested on an impaired driving charge.
After a trial, in which video of incident was played in court, a judge ruled there was no excessive use of force and the charge was dismissed.
