A  man wanted for murder in the Minneapolis area, who sparked a brief manhunt in a Thunder Bay neighbourhood a couple of weeks ago, has been taken into custody.

Lyle "Ty" Hoffman, 44, is accused of killing another man that media describe as being his business and romantic partner.

On Aug. 11 the Thunder Bay Police conducted an intensive manhunt in the Riverside Drive area at the end after a report Hoffman had been spotted there.

The report turned out to be false.

According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the search for Hoffman ended Thursday as police investigated a report of a suspicious male at a Shakopee shopping mall.

Police say Hoffman was apprehended and surrendered without incident.
