Police looking for man who attacked a cab driver with a knife Sunday

THUNDER BAY -- City police are looking for a man who assaulted a taxicab driver Sunday.

Just shortly before 8:00 p.m. on September 21, 2104,

Thunder Bay Police Service investigators say the cab driver picked up a man outside the Casino just after 8 p.m. The man requested to be taken to a Manitou Street address.

Once they arrived at this destination, the passenger pulled out a knife and attacked the driver. The driver was able to defend himself after being cut by the man.

The suspect fled the scene and the driver was able to call for assistance.

The 56-year-old male driver was taken to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre for treatment and has since been released.

The suspect is described as being an Aboriginal man in his early 20s. He stands about 5-8 and has a slim build. He was wearing jeans, a black hoodie and a blue baseball cap with a black peak.
