Provincial police investigate fire after body discovered

(KENORA, ON) – The Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is on the scene of a fire on Kagaki Lake Road in the Township of Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls.

The OPP and Nestor Falls Fire Department were called just after 7:00 pm on May 26, 2015 to a residence on Kagaki Rd.  When police and fire arrived; the building was completely engulfed in flames.  

Fire fighters located a single body within the home.  A post-mortem examination will be conducted in Kenora on May 28.  The identification of the deceased has been withheld pending next of kin notification. 

The scene is being held until the arrival of the Ontario Fire Marshall on May 27, 2015.

The investigation is continuing with the assistance of the Northwest Region Crime Unit and the Kenora Forensic Identification Unit.
