Truck stolen, crashed and ditched near Highway 614: OPP

OPP News Release: (MANITOUWADGE, ON) –On May 24, 2015, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Manitouwadge detachment received information regarding a pickup truck that was missing and being reported as stolen.

(MANITOUWADGE, ON) –On May 24, 2015, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Manitouwadge detachment received information regarding a pickup truck that was missing and being reported as stolen.

The vehicle was a Black 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 crew cab pickup truck with 5”lift kit, black rims and 35” tires. Ontario Plate 451 6ZV

It was last seen on May 23 at 10:00pm parked in the driveway of 19 Brooks Street in Manitouwadge. Police and community volunteers patrolled the Manitouwadge area and located the vehicle on the Caramat Road approximately 2.4Km from Highway 614. 

The vehicle was off the roadway in a ditch with damage to the exterior of the vehicle with some of the air bags deployed.

Police are currently investigating this incident and ask anyone with information in relation to this incident to call your local OPP at 1-888-310-1122. If you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), where you may be eligible for cash rewards of up to $2,000.

The OPP Crime Prevention Section urges the public to “LOCK IT or LOSE IT”.

Vehicles left unlocked, widows open, valuables in plain view, or even unlocked with keys in view, are a prime target for thieves. We encourage you to have vehicle locked, keys removed, windows closed, and valuables out of sight.
