THUNDER BAY – Despite predictions that gas prices would spike throughout the weekend, prices at local pumps remained relatively unchanged Saturday and Sunday.

According to the online gas price watchdog Ontariogasprices.com, prices in Thunder Bay remained near $1.23-to-$1.249-per-litre price for regular gasoline.

Gas prices fell most of the week last week and on Friday petroleum experts began to speculate that price would bounce back upward for the weekend. While provincially prices are trending upwards, Ontario now sits at a $1.03-per-litre average.

The lowest price you’ll find in Thunder Bay Monday morning is at the Superstore, where gas is selling for $1.229. At neighbouring Fort William First Nation you can purchase gas for as low as 99.9-cents-a-litre at K&A Variety and Gas Bar.
