Parking lot crash sends two men to jail after police discover SUV reported stolen

(KENORA, ON) Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have charged two Quebec men following an incident on Wednesday afternoon.

OPP received a call on Wednesday October 8, 2015 around 1:00 pm to report a vehicle had struck another vehicle in a parking lot on Highway 17 East in the City of Kenora and left the scene.  A police records check revealed the sport utility vehicle (SUV) had been reported stolen in Quebec a few days before.

Police located the SUV and arrested the two male occupants following a traffic stop on Lakeview Drive. 

As a result of this investigation an 18-year-old and 20-year-old of Drummondville, Quebec have been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.  They have been held in custody pending a bail hearing in Kenora Court on October 8, 2015.
