The Geraldton District Hospital has appointed a new CEO.
The hospital’s board appointed Lucy Bonanno, of Kingston, to take on the job. She brings more than 20 years of hospital and administrative experience to the job.
The hospital hopes to get started on relocating the emergency department from the bottom to the top floor.
They are also hoping to begin recruiting up to five new doctors.
It's a task that has proven to be difficult in the past, but hospital board chair Jamie McPherson says Bonanno should be a big help.
The hospital hopes to start construction and begin doctor recruiting as soon as possible.
