GATINEAU, Que. - Police in Gatineau, Que., say a 20-year-old man has been arrested after an officer was shot in the leg while responding to a call about a bush party along the Gatineau River.

A 911 call reported a disturbance involving nearly 20 people Saturday night.

Police say shortly after officers arrived, a shot was fired and struck an officer.

The female officer was shot in the leg and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say a man was arrested just after 5 a.m. while trying to leave an area cordoned off by officers. Police say it's not known if he was armed at the time of his arrest.

Investigators are also speaking with several witnesses detained after the shooting. (CFRA)
