Mr. Clyde Andrew Bannon, age 81 (and a half), passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at the Hogarth Transitional Care Unit with family by his side. Clyde was a lifelong resident of Fort William First Nation. He enjoyed hockey and baseball and loved watching the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays. He often spent time outside feeding his squirrels, crows and birds or doing yard work, or could be found in his living room window, looking out and waving at his friends driving by. In his younger years, Clyde played crib with his friends and would sit up in his shack with his wife Charlotte. He was a devoted Catholic and member of St. Anne’s Parish.
Clyde will be lovingly remembered by his sons Carl and Scott, grandchildren Clark, Matthew (Krista), Max, Jamie-Lee and Terra-Lynn, and great-grandchildren Ella, Gerard, Evie and Bernard. He is also survived by his son-in-law Ken, and his beloved daughter-in-law Tara, his ‘right hand man’. Clyde was predeceased by his parents, Patrick and Florence (nee Boucher) Bannon, wife Charlotte Bannon, and daughter Tammy Bannon.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024 at 12:00 pm in St. Anne’s Parish, officiated by Rev. Gerry McDougall. Interment will follow at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at 6:00 pm in St. Anne’s Parish, with prayers offered at 7:00 pm.
