LETTER: Focus on local issues

To the editor: With respect to Coun.

To the editor:

With respect to Coun. Andrew Foulds’ recent statement where he outlines his priorities as a Thunder Bay ward councillor, he must be referring to the priorities he had set out during his candidacy for the NDP provincial seat this past summer.
I didn't see where dealing with climate adaptation and income inequality were on the top of any taxpayers wish list regarding what we expect from a ward councillor.

He makes no mention of the high crime problems in our city and our high property taxes but rather he outlines conditions that are no doubt important, but are normally dealt with at the federal and provincial level.

Mr. Foulds took a leave of absence to run for the provincial seat and vacated his councillor responsibilities in doing so.
Now that he's back he wants to tackle issues that the United Nations can’t solve.

Is it any wonder that nothing ever changes in Thunder Bay?

Margaret MacMillan,
Thunder?Bay
