LETTER: Can the event centre, we don't need it

To the editor: At this time, Thunder Bay cannot afford a fancy event centre to have meetings, play hockey or whatever. Look around at all the homeless people, people losing their jobs.

To the editor:

At this time, Thunder Bay cannot afford a fancy event centre to have meetings, play hockey or whatever.

Look around at all the homeless people, people losing their jobs.

The streets are full of potholes, companies are leaving and closing.

Mayor Keith Hobbs had to know  that regardless of whether or not  a hockey team signed to come here it would not be at the government's expense.

If he didn't know, he should be ashamed of himself.

Fix the school system. We've got half-filled schoosl, some without the proper books. Aim for that and the people will get behind you.

Lose the darn centre and get rid of the half-constructed condominiums at the corner of Golf Links and Oliver roads. It's a lovely eyesore. How many bike trails will collapse before people see them having to be redone after only a year?

Thunder Bay
