To the editor,
Ignore Thunder Bay's social problems instead of ignoring a Facebook page is actually some people's solution.
There is a serious amount of resources being used to completely eliminate a single Facebook page. Other Internet sites on similar topics can be started and are operational, will the removal of those sites be pursued too?
And then what?
Attack individuals' social media accounts? Eliminate thought and expression? Stop people meeting in public? All to prevent people from seeing or discussing online what they already see and discuss publicly. When will it end?
Who is benefiting from a sustained campaign against this specific Facebook page?
Mentally ill, substance abusers, homeless? They will be left on the streets, treated the same, and mired in their world of problems. "Social justice warriors" who are developing their credibility? Politicians, government and social service organizations whose responsibility it is to help?
