The Lakehead Thunderwolves men's hockey team will kick off their 12th season on the road.

The Wolves will travel to Guelph on Oct. 5, the start of the OUA regular season, the club announced Thursday, unveiling its 2012-13 schedule.

Their home opener will come the following weekend, when the York Lions arrive at Fort William Gardens for a pair of games starting Oct. 12.

Also on the home schedule for the upcoming season are Western, UQTR and Windsor, who will make their first visit to the Bay on Nov. 23 since knocking off the Thunderwolves last winter in the opening round of the OUA playoffs.

The second-half includes visits from Guelph, Ontario Tech and Waterloo.

Lakehad has also set up preseason contests against Ottawa and Brock on successive weekends, starting Sept. 21, and a Christmastime visit from the defending national champion McGill Redmen, who invade the Gardens on Dec. 28.

Their full schedule can be found here.

They better beat Western this year. Losing all four to them doesnt look good. Even though the games were extremely close, a loss is still a loss.

I think the squad will be good. Just need an improvement in the nets. Hopefully coach scherban is looking at someone, or else hope that bosh kid can carry the load. Dupuis can't steal a game to save his life.

I can't wait for the season to start it looks like lakeead has improved the team for next season. One thing that is disappointing is no out of confrence teams coming in for non- confrence games . That's something I always look forward too.
