Ryan McDonald is the top local runner to cross the finish line at the Boston Marathon.
McDonald completed the prestigious race in 2:58:01, the 1916th runner to finish the race. He’s one of at least 11 Thunder Bay runners taking part in the annual event, taking place a little more than a year after the 2013 race was halted after a deadly explosion rocked the finish-line area.
McDonald was followed across the line by Marcia Migay, the first local female finisher. Migay crossed the line with a net time of 3:19:42.
The next local runner to finish was Darren Sneve, with a time of 3:24:16.
