Diver Carlson finishes eighth at Youth Olympic Games

Two-time national junior gold medalist Molly Carlson took on the world on Monday and came away with an impressive eighth-place finish.

Two-time national junior gold medalist Molly Carlson took on the world on Monday and came away with an impressive eighth-place finish.

Carlson, 15, scored 388 points in her three-metre springboard diving competition at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China.

Shengping WU, diving for the host country, topped the field to take home the gold, scoring 492.05. Ukraine’s Ganna Krashnoshlyk captured silver while Malaysia’s Zhiayi Loh took the bronze.

On Saturday Carlson finished 11th in the 10-metre platform competition.
