Kirk captures junior golf title

Jeremy Kirk is the District Junior golf champion. Kirk shot a two-over 74 Thursday at Whitewater Golf Course to score an 11-stroke victory over Connor Carr. Krik finished with a three-under 141 total after a brilliant five-under 67 the day before.

Kirk shot a two-over 74 Thursday at Whitewater Golf Course to score an 11-stroke victory over Connor Carr. Krik finished with a three-under 141 total after a brilliant five-under 67 the day before.

The win secures Kirk a spot in next year’s provincial junior championship.

Max Ukrainec finished third with a two-day 158 total.|

In the 14-16 age category, Sam Orr’s 159 was enough to earn him a five-shot win over Travis Glomba and Aaron Rucnicki, while in the 12-13 category Matthew Cho-Chu eked out a one-shot triumph over Devin Lawson, his final round 82 giving him a two-day total of 162.

In the two-person girls category, Alexandra Demko shot 77-81 for the win.
