Blackwood, who plays for the Barrie Colts, on Wednesday was named the legendary defenceman’s squad for the upcoming BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects game in St. Catharine’s, Ont., slated for Jan. 22.

The 18-year-old is in his second season with the Colts and sports a 3.28 goals against average with an 11-5-1 record and a .904 save percentage.

He’s a graduate of the Thunder Bay Kings program.

In total 40 players earned invites to play in the heavily scouted contest, which features the top North American prospects eligible for the 2015 NHL draft.

Orr’s team will face off against a team coached by former coach Don Cherry.
