THUNDER BAY, Ont. – Superior International Junior Hockey League Commissioner Bryan Graham announced Thursday the following player suspension for his actions at the conclusion of Game No. 4 of the Bill Salonen Cup final Wednesday, April 15, Fort Frances Lakers @ Dryden GM Ice Dogs at Memorial Arena:

ZACHARY KERCZ, (F) DRYDEN GM ICE DOGS – THREE (3) GAMES

The player was suspended after being assessed a major penalty and subsequent game misconduct for checking from behind at the 20-minute mark of third period of Game 4 under Rule 6.4(a).

He incurs an automatic two-game suspension under league regulation 3.1 and one additional game for being assessed game misconduct in final 10 minutes of third period under Rule 4.6(c).

The suspension will be served during the following games:
Game 5 Bill Salonen Cup Final Friday, April 17 Dryden @ Fort Frances
Game 6 Bill Salonen Cup Final Saturday, April 18 Fort Frances @ Dryden
*Game 7 Bill Salonen Cup Final Tuesday, April 21 Dryden @ Fort Frances




* Should the SIJHL Bill Salonen Cup final be decided in six games, Kercz will sit out the opening contest of the Dudley-Hewitt Cup on Tuesday, April 28 vs. the NOJHL champion.
