Schreiber's McParland goes sixth overall in CWHL draft

Schreiber’s Jenna McParland has a new hockey home. The University of Minnesota-Duluth forward on Sunday was the sixth overall pick in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League draft, taken by the Brampton Thunder.

The University of Minnesota-Duluth forward on Sunday was the sixth overall pick in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League draft, taken by the Brampton Thunder.

The 5-foot-9 McParland spent four seasons at UMD, where she scored 50 goals and added 66 asssists in 141 contests.
McParland had seven goals and 16 assists in 36 games last season.

Brampton took Harvard University blue-liner Sarah Edney with the No. 1 pick. Cornell’s Emily Fulton went second to the Toronto Furies.
