WBB: Lakehead rallies late, but can't catch Waterloo on road

The Lakehead Thunderwolves women’s basketball team trailed the Waterloo Warriors by 18 points on the road at the half, battled back to within six, but couldn’t overcome their early deficit, dropping a 60-51 decision Friday night.

Bridget O’Reilly led LU with 14 points, while Katelyn Andrea collected a double-double, scoring 12 points to go with 13 rebounds. O’Reilly dropped three-pointers on the Warriors, who were led by Emily Wilk’s 20-point performances. Kristen Osborne scored 10 points in the opening quarter.

Waterloo outscored Lakehead 16-4 in the decisive second quarter.

The Warriors improved to 4-12 with the win. The Wolves dropped three games behind Guelph in the race for the final playoff spot in the OUA Central, with five games to go on their schedule.
