The Lakehead Thunderwolves came out firing Friday night after the break, out-scoring the host Waterloo Warriors 44-21 to capture an 84-64 OUA men’s basketball road win as their playoff push continued.
The Wolves were led by 17 from guard Henry Tan, and got double-digit points from five players, including a pair of players who came off the bench to provide scoring.
Taner Parrington had 14 and Darnell Curtin 10.
Bacarius Dinkins, named the CIS male athlete of the week earlier this season, had 16 and grabbed eight rebounds for the Wolves (8-6).
Ben Davis netted 25 for Waterloo (1-15), who took a 43-40 lead into halftime.
Lakehead pulled two games in front of Guelph (6-8) in the hunt for the final playoff berth in the OUA Central.
