LETTER: Could a Canadian law penalize politicians who lie?

I am sick and tired of holding my nose while holding a ballot.
letter-to-the-editor

To the editor,

Currently, a Welsh lawmaker is attempting to bring in a law to make it illegal for politicians to lie. Wouldn't that be something?

Imagine if our Canadian politicians were not allowed to lie. Life would be so much better, re-assuring, and safe. How does one bring about a bill to bring this into law in Canada?

Unfortunately, it would be the crooked politicians themselves that would make sure this would never fly. The possibilities would be endless. Imagine open, honest people working with the people of this country to better the country and its people?

I am sick and tired of holding my nose while holding a ballot. Whether it's federal or provincial politics, we all know the news stories of politicians who break the law, but seldom anything is done.
