COLLINGWOOD — It was a successful weekend for Krista McCarville and her rink from the Fort William Curling Club.
McCarville, Andrea Kelly, Kendra Lilly and Ashley Sippala went a perfect 5-0 on their way to winning the Stu Sells Living Waters Collingwood Classic on Sunday.
In the final, McCarville scored three points in the seventh end to defeat former Ontario provincial champion Hollie Duncan by a score of 6-4.
The reigning Northern Ontario title holders advanced to the playoffs with 'A' event wins over Julia Markle and Shelley Hardy.
McCarville followed that up with a 3-1 quarterfinal triumph over Carly Howard and a 6-1 semifinal victory over Jessica Corrado.
This was the third cashspiel of the season for the McCarville rink, which also features Sarah Potts.
In September, they reached the final at the Mother Club Fall Curling Classic in Winnipeg and they qualified for the playoffs at the Stu Sells Toronto Tankard in October.
The next event for the team is the Nutrien Ag Solutions Western Showdown in Swift Current, Sask., from Dec. 12-15.
