Invites applications for the position of
Paralegal (Full-Time Contract Position ending March 31, 2027)
Reporting to the Community Services Supervisor and the Executive Directors the Paralegal will provide services and supports for survivors of gender-based violence as they move through the family court process including court applications, assistance with affidavits and filing documents.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supporting clients with court applications, affidavits, and legal documentation.
• Provide legal information and referrals.
• Assist with Legal Aid and accompany clients to court.
• Liaise with lawyers, courts, and community agencies.
• Maintain current legal knowledge and accurate records
WORK SCHEDULE:
• 37.5 hours per week
• Monday to Friday 8:30AM to 5:00PM with one unpaid hour for lunch
• Flexibility required for travel and after-hours needs
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
• Post-secondary education in a legal program and have graduated from a paralegal education program accredited by the Law Society
• Be a licensed paralegal in Ontario or eligible to become licensed
Skills:
• Knowledge of gender-based violence and family law.
• Strong communication, organizational, and research skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
• Clear criminal record check.

COMPENSATION:
• Starting Wage: $30.73-$33.29
